Description

Scuba divers using Nitrox (enriched air) will find this to be a great planning tool for diving.

"Nitrox Diver" uses the two standard

32% Oxygen (68% Nitrogen)

36% Oxygen (64% Nitrogen)

tables for calculations and is in both imperial and metric systems.

Some deco times are provided for those dives that show it on the tables.

This is a tool is to be used as a reference only. You should always refer to your training and the materials provided by your certifying agency.

Your certifying agency will also no doubt have told you that even strict compliance with the dive tables will not guarantee avoidance of decompression sickness. Conservative usage is strongly recommended.

Nitrox app

:
This app is so lame too simplistic and not worth the money. Waste of time

Crikey, I've Got Nitrogen In My Blood!

:
No. This app is not yet ready for the kiddie pool, let alone the ocean. It won't do what you need it to do, so hold on (but never hold your breath) and wait for some useful dive apps for the iPhone.

Good start & a lot of room for improvement

:
My Suunto D-9 is in the shop and I'm left using my old Suunto Cobra, what a difference, terrible, extremely conservative. I found this app and tried it out, excellent. I am able to dive a lot longer and plan my following dives safely. I'm using my Cobra as a dive gauge only now. I checked out the algorithm on this app to the tables and they are right on the money. This app is also good for judging how conservative your dive computer is. Since most dive computers are made by geek heads and scared lawyers, this app let's you know what the professional dive community says.

Recommendations are to allow for more Nitrox mixes; I would strongly suggest to be able to input the mix. Also, the slide for the surface time is awful, better to input the time.

I look forward to the next upgrade. In the meantime since it's going to take "6 to 8 weeks" to get my D-9 back, I'm going to be using this app a lot!
